Nintendo Wii owners....I've got a question

I know we just had a Wii thread a few days ago. I read through it and thought about posting this on there, but it wasn't really related to what was discussed, so I'll start a new one...

I want to know from the Wii owners out there, based on my situation, if you would reccomend this:

My wife and I like to play Co-op games as a team, we aren't really all that competative. Howver, she had a nintendo when she was a kid and loved it. And I could see us playing sports games because this appears to be much more interactive and would hold her attention more. What I mean is, she would never play a game of Madden head to head against me on xbox, but I think she would play tennis and bowling and other things on the Wii.

In addition to this, we have a 3 year old who will soon be 4. We had discussed getting her a video game system (some inexpensive one that kids could use) that would be for her to play with.

So, my question is: In your opinion do you think that my soon to be 4 year old would be able to use this system or is she still a little young to really find value in it. I think my wife and I would enjoy it, but I want my kids to be able to have fun with it also before I drop the cash.

Otherwise, I'll probably just pick up some kid game system like v-tech or something for our daughter, and look at something else for the wife and myself... I would really love to hear from everyone on this who has a Wii...

Thanks

I am interested in this also. This may be a present for a 5 and 7 year old.

Maybe, supervised......BUT ... she can grow into it. IMO, it was my money well spent....and I dont have any money.

I think Nintendo did a great thing with the Wii. When we got ours, the whole family was playing it, and on Saturday nights we have "Wii night" and our friends play too.

It works great as a party/family system.

My wife, my son (8), and my daugher (5) have been playing it since it came out.

My daughter who was only 4 at the time immediately picked up the Wii Sports and was bowling like a pro. She has trouble with baseball and tennis but the bowling she is great at.

We also have Wii Play and that has several games she can play.

I can't tell you how many times we've broken a sweat playing tennis or boxing against each other.

My daughter has a Vtech in her room but never plays it. The game play is just to *blah* to keep her interested.

She is asking Santa for a few Wii games of her own. It may take your son a few tries to get it down but before you know it you will be having a hard time trying to beat him in bowling.

It is a GREAT party/family system.

OK.

I bought Super Mario Galaxy and so far it's a pretty fun game. The controls are a little tricky at first, but I got used to em in about 30 minutes of play.

During game play, anyone can pick up controller 2 and join in on the fun. The player is limited to game play, but can be helpful none the less. Player 2 can use the remote to pick up star pieces that can be used as a weapon to shoot and stun enemies. While Player 1 is running around solving SIMPLE puzzles, player 2 can pick up star pieces for him/her and help by shooting enemies with them. Then all Player 1 has to do is walk into the stunned enemy to take them out.

Like vader mentioned aboved, Wii Play and Wii Sports are great family fun. We love our Wii.
