What's wrong with being liberal?
 

I know this is a pro-conservative site (that's obvious), but I've got to ask- what makes you guys & gals who are- what makes you "Pro-Conservative" and "Anti-Democrat" What makes you anti-liberal, and Pro-Republican?

For me, I'm neither. I am not a gang member, so I side with whomever is for what I believe in, whether it be a Republican candidate for this, and a democrat for that, or not.

In other words, I don't side with party lines, I vote each item (that I care about), individually, and don't subscribe to group-think.

Why the liberal bashing?

Is that more gang/mob mentality- or do you have a real reason you wouldn't mind sharing?

Hersh, I tend to disagree with most liberal thinking, I don't think that is bashing. By nature and upbringing, I am generally conservative on most issues, but I too vote for the person that is the best candidate, not party lines. I have voted for Democrats, but they were conservative democrats. I just happen to be of the belief that the least government is the best government. Disagreeing and debating issues is not bashing to me. When people start the bashing, I'm gone, nothing to gain with that.

I'm looking forward to the replies. I agree with ya on not being able to pick one side.

Believe it or not, I'm an Independent. But I like to Argue/Debate, which means I'm typically argueing the more "Liberal" side on this Site.

Many people have this All or nothing mentality, which mean's everyone who disagree's with them has to be a "Stupid liberal".. :rolleyes:

My Wife's Very Liberal. She thinks I'm best Friends with Rush Limbaugh. :lol:

I think the generally accepted term here is "libtard" rather than "stupid liberal". I could be thinking of LS1tech though.

I dont like politics. I see it as a necessary evil. And discussing it is a lot like religion. It can get rather ugly.

I've been a registered Democrat since I was able to vote. I tend to be more on the Liberal side, actually in all aspects of life. But I also vote for who I feel is the best candiate regardless of Democrat/Republican.

I am conservative through and through. I believe the founding fathers were MILES ahead of their time. I think every American should stand on their own 2 feet if at all possible. I believe that I have a right to own a gun and use it to defend myself or anyone in my immediate area that needs me. I think murderers should be put to death and that fetuses should live. I am convinced that I can better determine how the money I make should be sent that anyone in the government. But I also believe that taking the fight to the enemy is the best way to fight.

I could go on and on and on, but the liberal belief structure is not in line with mine, nor is it in line with the founding fathers ideas as to what America should be.

American was started by people that wanted the OPPORTUNITY to succeed, not a guarantee to have their sorry butt carried for their whole lives. If someone needs help, I am the first one in line - I am American. I don't expect my government to be there, I expect people to help each other.

If you look at liberals, they blow with the wind. Every theory they throw in behind gets blown up, and then they go to the next cause. Look at global warming... they want to reduce CO2 emission to stop it. Now it looks like the latest research is that CO2 level increases are caused by the higher global temp, not the other way around. Soon they will move to the next great save the world project.

Politically, I vote for who I want. Unfortunately, it is virtually always the lesser of 2 evils - I vote against someone rather than for the other.

Ron Paul is Ultra-conservative on everything but the war, at least from everything I have seen. Unfortunately, I don't think he stands a chance at this point in time.

I am happy to say that I have left-leaning tenedancies, but I also have some conservative values, as well. I fear censorship and hate censorship witha passion; if you tell me what I can read, when do you begin to tell me what I can think? As an educator, greatliterature is supposed to bother you.

I am radically against all forms of gun control and I am infavor of CCW.

As for the US Government, I believe that it is not what the founding fathers wished for---but that ironically it is waaaaay too conservative now than it should be. I am not a far-left leaning liberal, but I do believe that the country is way, way too conservative than it should be. I would like to see a more moderae government---both from the blues as well as the reds. Common sense rather than a political mudslinging match.

AS for being a "libtard"---I would like to have people disagree with alittle style and a little class---calling names went out, I beleive, in the fourth grade. I guess it is certainly OK to disagree, but don't disrespect one another.

I also find it interesting that conservatives are strongly in favor of the strict interpretation of the Constitution---(ironically so am I) but they also favor the Patriot act, which blows part of the Constituion to shreds...I do not quite get it, but that is their right, I guess...
