Got it working!!!
Yep, 80gb hard drive in the car. Got my entire MP3 collection in the car. Now the hard part is browsing 8000+ songs... The random feature is my friend... Its not too bad, since I already had things sorted by artist/CD/song...
I had the old 40gb drive out of my laptop in there with a cheap USB case, however the drive died shortly after install...
glad I got it out of the laptop in time... So, I found this 80gb portable on sale, and I now have no real use for CD's anymore unless I borrow them... I can even burn books on CD now...
So, as for the title... When I first installed the drive the receiver didn't have enough power. It would read the drive, then shut off just as it started to play. Well, I still had the double ended USB cable from the old drive/case, and plugged the power end into my laptop, and all was good. So, I took a portable USB hub, and a phone charger, and I know have 4 USB power-only ports in my glove box, along with the USB for the receiver...
Hoping to install my amp/sub this weekend, and Sirius whenever I get it back out of the Camino, hopefully next weekend. Next on the list is Bluetooth...
BTW, here's what I got:

with this:

and I hope to add this soon:

Probably couldn't find pix if I tried of the amp, sub and Sirius. The sub is a Kicker XPL 12" probably 8 years old, the amp is a 4-ch Boss of about the same age, and the Sirius is a Kenwood that's over 3 years old... The amp and sub probably need to be upgraded, but not spending money till they die...
So, I may not be able to go fast, but at least I have all my tunes now...

This is all in the daily driver Civic. I thought about leaving the Sirius in the Camino, but unless my 75mile daily commute lessens the Camino won't get that much driving time either...
