What's your point? He was prolly all hopped up on crack. I mean, what's more important... a brother or a vet? You own blood. He wacked him. The fact he was a vet was irrelevant.

The best thing I can think of for these young men is to hold them in Prison until April 15th, then stake them to the ground spread-eagle somewhere nice and warm that time of year, with a lot of critters- like Texas. Then take them out in the woods, muzzle them, then pour honey all over their bodies.

Then let the critters and the fire ants do their work over the course of the next seven days. Leave a 5- gallon can of water over their heads with a small hole in it, drippig on their lips, so they can get a drink now & then. This should add an extra day to their torture.

Who ever survives 7 days of that, gets to spend the rest of their lives in prison. The one(s) who don't, don't...

In other words, get mideval on thier azzes!

Punx.

I had to re-read that too guys: No, the guy that masterminded the robbery wasn't his brother. He was the son of the woman who prepared the tax return (So that little SNOT, and maybe his Momma too, were in on it, since she KNEW exactly how much money he was about to get back). The three guys (15, 17 & 17) were related to the two Bush boys that got shot, one fatally.

One of them definitely "knew" the young man. The other two (The shooter and one accomplice) probably didn't.

I wouldn't be SURPRISED if the Momma didn't send them to do it.

1991: Remember that woman IN DETROIT who had her brother kill her husband because she was expectign him to get killed in Desert Storm, and she he got home, she wanted the SGLI money, so she had her brother kil him? They're both in prison now.

Where do you see that in the article?

Anyway... It's terrible that things like this happen. Like D said, it happens everywhere in every walk of life. They need to be put to death directly following the trial that finds them guilty. No more sitting in prison, enjoying meals that I pay for while watching HBO that I pay for, for years, while year after year they get a stay of execution that is fought for by lawyers that MY tax dollars pay for...

The title of this thread is not really acceptable to the details of the case. The fact that this guy is a war vet had absolutely nothing to do with the events that took place. These kids had no idea he was a war vet, he was just a target to them. Now DO NOT GET ME WRONG, I am completely 100% behind the people who guard our country day in and day out and I will support them no matter what, but in this case, him being a veteran had nothing to do with the encounter. The fact that he was such a vet would have been discovered later while running background investigations on all the people involved.

"DETROIT - Three teenage relatives have been charged in the death of an Iraq War veteran who was gunned down and robbed shortly after cashing a tax refund check for more than $5,000.

Steven Johnson, 15, was charged as an adult with first-degree murder, while his brother, William, and cousin, Duane Johnson, both 17, were charged with conspiring to rob and kill Bush. All three were arraigned Monday.

Authorities said Duane Johnson's mother had prepared the tax return for Terron Bush, 24, who was confronted by a gunman as he left a check-cashing store. "

Ok, I'll retract that. I read it wrong... And though the kids might not have known that he was in the service, the kids mom (the tax preparer) certainly did... And from the setup that it looks like...

I'm not saying that they targeted him because of his service, but where's the safer place to be??? Here or there? At least in the sandbox you can shoot back and not get hounded by liberals for being a anti gun control freak...

Damn... You'd think that the place you'd give your life for would be safer than the place you're fighting in...

I am a currently serving veteran. I have served my country faithfully for the last 15 years. While this is no doubt tragic, I fail to see what this has to do with being a veteran.

All this is? A slight description of the hell-hole known as Detroit. I know plenty of guys that have been on the ground in Iraq. I venture a guess that a good many of them would prefer Fallujah over Detroit. Why? You get to LEGALLY shoot back in Fallujah.

Before any Detroit enthusiasts get their panties in a bunch, YES I have been there & NO I will never go back.

KC-10 FE out...

I mixed up the facts a bit... I first thought that the service members brother was the one who shot him. That being the case, the brother would have surely know that the guy was a service member...Hence the title of the thread...

I do stand corrected on that fact. But as I stated above, it really sounds like the tax preparer set her son up to do the job. She would have known he was service...

It's pretty well known that many Navy personell get hefty bonuses for re-enlisting, depending upon their rate. 28% of that bonus is taxed right off the top... Normally the member gets about 90% of that back when they file income tax. The questions are there... We just may never know the answers...
