With a 5.7 liter supercharged blower, Toyota takes on the performance segment. Here are some pics

To me, it looks as if Toyota coppied it from the Lightning concept.

Because it is a very cool truck......Like I said before, put my wheels and brakes on it and I may consider a trade. I think we need to see it in black with some silver wheels.

Atleast my brakes are still bigger

I hope, by posting it here, that Ford will take a hard look at the opinions of the LIghtning owners and step up to the plate. We need a next generation Lightning that will change the market like it did with the Gen 2. Now the Import(Tundra considered domestic)companies are expanding into the Truck High Performance Market. I hope it doesn't push ford out of the Truck High Performance Market. GIVE ME MY GEN 3!

wow

does resemble the gen3 concept.

I like it. Let other pick up where the american left off. I'n not a fan of the wheels but the rest of it looks pretty good to me. And, it's a toyota, so i'm quality isn't left out and there will be plenty of tuners for it.

Any mention on the price tag?

I'm guessing 40k+

Arrow Don't know whether to give it a thumbs up or thumbs down?

Well great idea anyway. As bad as I want a brand new truck off the showroom floor, I don't think I can stomach the looks of a Toyota. I could NEVER get myself to like jap designs. The curves and the shapes are just ugly and too baby toyish' looking and not mean/aggressive enough to me. Looks more like a retarded jerry's kid to me.

I DO give them credit for looking into the sport truck scene. I DO wish them luck with it since hopefully it might help seal the deal with Ford making a Gen III Lightning.

The sign says on sale fall 2007... Man I tell ya... I want a brand NEW truck badly! I'd go buy a brand new Gen II right now if they where available. I currently only like the Gen II L so I'm stuck with a used hand me down. I will out of curiosity have no choice but to go and at least check this supercharged Toyota out this fall in person.

Somehow I doubt this truck will turn heads and get the comments my Gen II L does...

There's no way I'd give 40G's on something so ugly, lol. I'd just go get a Viper truck. I'm thinkin' it shouldn't be any more then a Gen II was new or I won't even bother to go look at it.

I don't understand it, Japs can make their off road motocross race machines look so mean and aggressive (well, even their on road motor cycles look good as well) but what the hell is the dealio with their retarded car body designs? ugly.. Ugly.. UGLY!!

Wow, that really does look like a Lightning...kind of a merge of the Gen3 concept and our heritage bodies. Looks pretty good, I'd just drop the red stripe on the rims...

If you are serious, there are a lot of Ram SRT10's around brand new on lots. You can buy them now for not much more than a GenII Lightning was new. At least up here in new England.
