Check out this motorcycle wheel It's Amazing

check this thing out....it's kinda funny and cool at the same time....maybe more for a garage trophy that doesn't leave the garage, or hanging on the wall as art.....

imagine trying to clean that thing.......or if an animal like a squirell ran in your path and got caught:eek:

Too many moving parts.

It may be cool on a chopper that you just cruise around on in the parking lot, but I sure wouldn't trust that thing at any kind of speed. Imagine doing 120 plus, and the front wheel "throws a cog"?

I don't think the wheel needed to be re-invented.

Well, it is interseting, from a performance point of few, it adds alot of friction....

It's a glorified version of those stupid spinner rims.

While it certainly is an artistic take on it, the whole point of those spinner rims eludes me (other than being tacky).

Hell, throw a planetary gear or two in there and do away with the transmission...:rocker:

x2 for the garage trophy idea. Seems like somebody got bored. I wouldn't mid one of those on the wall connected to an electric motor to spin it abut the same speed the guy in the vid spind it. And as for trusting it, I dunno. Seems dangerous, but then again, think about your engine. It has way more moving parts than that and you don't seem to worry. I guess you'd have to see how it acts at low speed and make a decision based on that.

Yea but I gotta firewall between me and the engine..... if it blews to pieces I just coast to a stop....... if that wheel blows to pieces... who knows..... however it does not look like the gears are the supporting structure, they are just decoration floating around outside the actual wheel, so worse case scenario, it blows to pieces on of the gogs gets stuck between the wheel and the arm (assuming this is a motorcycle wheel) and it locks the wheel up. That probabl ywouldn;t be a fun ride on a bike if your front wheel suddenly locked up unexpectedly.......
