are f150's any good

New guy here
Ready to trade my 2000 Silverado 4x4
I have to say this truck has been perfect
I'm considering an 2007 F150 Lariat 4x4
I would appreciate any input as I have been away from Ford for about 15 years. Are these a good truck to buy.
Thanks for the help

I'm a Chevy man..........or use to be. My 97 F150 4x4 I've had since new. No problems. Excellent condition. Uses no oil. Runs great. I've always kept it maintained and always done preventive maintanence. It never let me down. Now I have a 2007 F250 4x4 PSD.

My first truck was a C1500 that I owned 8 years and it also held up well. But I do prefer the Fords now.

aha thats quite the question to ask on a pure f150 forum..

thats like going to a specific video game forum and asking if anyone plays that game

but yes, you should buy it
fords are as tough as they ever were and then some.
if you dont want a lot of problems with the truck, i suggest not getting a low priced xlt

my xlt was 32,000 and brakes are squealin, tires are wearin', the squirts are only shootin on one side of the windshield, we had peelin' paint last summer, some vibrations

hope that didnt scare you away

but yes good truck none the less :rocker:

what difference would it make if you got an XL or a Harley Davidson model F-150? F-150 is an F-150 no matter what and are NOT built differently according to Trims, there the same thing, built the same way from XL all the way up to the H.D.

but anyway, yes, Ford makes the best trucks on the market

No kidding, by the time I'm done with mine though it'll be like a more expensive model.

You could be correct, but if it was a problem truck would that not be visible to this many actual owners.

Considering few, if any gave you a real answer...here's mine: Yes Ford makes GREAT trucks. It really isn't a coincidence that they have dominated the market the way they have for as long as they have. Do the trucks have problems? Of course. EVERY brand makes cars and trucks that will have some issues from time to time.

The biggest issues with the current F150? Many find the 5.4 to be anemic in the power department. I would have to sort of agree, although with just a few mods my supercrew can REALLY get up and go.

the other main issue was with the spark plugs breaking up when removed in the heads. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this issue was fixed in the 2007 models. Other than that, there is no other "common" problem I can think of. These trucks are really put together quite well, much nicer than ANY other truck I have ever been in.

I love my truck because it suits me well, meets my needs, and gets me tons of looks and complements all the time. You will have similar results if you get yourself a nice, new F150. :beers:

The wife tested an 07 black lariat with the chrome package today.
She would not think of driving anything else, it's her daily driver.
More than I wanted to spend but a happy wife is far cheaper than a divorce.
I must admit, as far as a stock unit is concerned there is nothing I' seen even close to this thing

Dude, he posted this same thing twice...

Are F150's good? Son, that's like asking if boobies are good. You might as well have asked if the sky was blue. Or does a bear shiat in the woods?:D
