Is the show any better now? I remember watching it the first season and it seemed to go nowhere and every show was the same. I watched most of the first season and got bored with it. So is it better now?

IMHO, 24 is the best show on network television. I can't wait for the new season.. When we left off last year, the Chinese had just captured Jack... I wonder what is next?
