As if WV. didn't already SUCK!

I'm readin' know that WV is gettin' a 49.9 cent tax raise on the gallon of gas startin' January 1st. Goodbye $2.25 a gallon, hello $2.75 & who knows how much higher it will get! Why not, were already payin' the highest insurance premiums in the country! West Virginia exports HUGH amounts everything from Coal, Timber, Natural Gas & even our water! Why not split the tax over some of the exports where it won’t hurt the average working’ man? As if livin’ here wasn’t bad enough, now gas is goin’ up 50 more cents . Why not it’s only money, who cares!

Come to California, then you can complain about gas prices

and we get 10% ethanol too...

JBMX928 Dec 2, 2006 11:06 PM

gas is 240 in buffalo right now
it was over 3.15 more than a few months ago tho so nobody here is complaining probably.

FX4_Off_Road Dec 2, 2006 11:31 PM

I guess it woulden't be so bad if they eased it up a little every month. But what if you knew it was goin’ to raise 50 cents a gallon just because of some B.S tax! Hell put it on cigarettes & alcohol if ya need it that bad. I'm sure you would get twice the money that you would ever get from the gas!! Heck, I roll my own cigs & I can make my own alcohol. Hehe, sounds like a country song! I got a shotgun a rifle & a 4 wheel drive & a country boy can survive!! Seriously, property taxes, Food Taxes, Vehicle taxes and even the Dog taxes! Which I don’t think it pertains to the cat though!! But it’s only a 25 dollar fine if ya dog isn’t taxed. But they won’t put an export tax on the things there exportin’ And I’m sure there is a multiple tax tax in there somewhere!!

In England, we pay the equivalent of $7.00 per gallon.
$5.00 is the tax.

So stop whining :D

Umm..I don't live in WV, but a little research indicates that it's not 'going up' 49.9 cents, it's going *TO* 49.9 cents (new total state + federal gas tax in WV) due to a 4.5 cent increase. The 'variable tax rate' is being increased from 6.5 cents to 11 cents.

Tax increases suck in general, but 4.5 cents is much better than 49.9.

Well then crap! This whole thread has been based on bad information. So do we need to disregard everything written up to this point? Should I delete my posts? :help:

I beg to differ.....NJ still has the highest insurance premiums in the country. It's been like that for years.

I beg to differ . . . Lost Angeles does.

Mudman78 Dec 3, 2006 01:08 AM

Maybe L.A. does as a city, but California does not as a state and if it does, then I need to tell all the news reporting agencies that they've been misinformed all these years.

02SuperCrew4X Dec 3, 2006 01:08 AM

I beg to differ.... NJ is notorious for ridiculous insurance rates.

Gas is always 50 cents higher in Charleston WV than in Kentucky. I always fill up here before I come up that way.
