Another question for the computer guru's

I'm having a rather odd problem (I hope) when I play music or video on my computer. A few weeks back I had to replace my hard drive because it was SERIOUSLY attacked by a worm or virus. I took the opportunity to upgrade from the original 20 gig to an 80 gig 7200 RPM drive. I had to reinstall Windows ME as my XP Pro disc had been "modified" by the family pooch. Everything I play now sounds like the chipmunks, I don't believe it has anything to do with the faster hard drive as the ME opening theme plays normally. I'm using Windows Media 9, but it doesn't matter what I play the music on I get the same thing. Ideas?

Check for updates on your sound card driver and such?

Me is no longer updated for security problems by MS

if you have valid key for XP and you registered it MS might send you a new CD ... MAYBE

If your computer meets the minimums, you can also download Windows Vista RC1 for free from microsoft. It is pretty close to the actual copy going to be released. It is only temporary though, since when the actual vista comes out, you'll have to buy a copy, or go to another OS. RC1 is kinda buggy, but not half as buggy as ME :)

Thanks for the input guys. Turns out it was a driver issue, or more accurately I neglected to install one driver from my Dell CD. Installed it earlier and the problem is gone.:rocker:
