Angry STAY AWAY from autopartswarehouse.com!!!

Hey guys, just wanted to forewarn anyone who comes across this website and thinks about purchasing something from them... My brother tried to purchase smittybuilt side steps for his truck 2 months ago, as you all know they smittybuilt closed. So my brother asked for a refund, it has been two months and they still have not refunded his $400. So i stepped in and tried to deal with them. They are giving us the complete run around. It sounds like they are some young indian guys trying to run the most unprofessional business ever out of their basement. Bottom line is if you come accross this website, STAY AWAY they are nothing but a scam. Also does anyone know how we can take action on these guys, I was thinking about calling the B.B.B(better business bureu) or the F.T.C. but i am not sure exactly who to take action against these guys... Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ya that sucks when things like that happen. If it was done on a credit card you should be able to deny the charge because they did not give you what they said they would. Cause i know that my dad has had to do this before.

Me and my brother have thought about that, we wanted to pursue the company first because I just firmly believe that if a company conducts business such as this, they should be shut down. I want to take action against the company as well as get my brothers money back... thanks for the thought, that is probably what is going to end up happening.

Call the BBB. Then, I'd let the CC company take over. Dispute the charges and let their lawyers have all the fun.

Make a formal complaint to your states attorney general's office. Be very to the point and proffesional when dealing with them and they will normally help you out.

File a complaint with the BBB and your state's Attorney General's office of consumer protection, and dispute it with the credit card company.

most municipal city police have online fraud/internet department now. in your case they may not be able to help, but if you can find the city they are in, it may be worth your time trying to contact the local police...may not get you anywhere, but what have you got to lose....maybe if the cops even just contact the owners that they received a complaint, that might be enough to motivate them...at this point, $400 is $400...work any angle you can...good luck...and thanks for the info...

First order of business: canel the credit card charge.
Submitting a complaint to the BBB will do diddly squat.

Submitting a complaint to the BBB will help warn others of the problem. Sure it won't help him, but it might help others.

My wife won't let me buy from anyone with multiple unresolved BBB complaints.
She's a better internet shopper than I am...
Chris

I didn't think of that aspect, your right, just won't matter much to the owners.

Don't put it off too long. In most cases the credit card company must hear from you IN WRITING no later than 60 DAYS.
