Just call me a traitor...

I went down to the local Honda joint tonight and picked up a 2006 Accord LX 4 door for the wife. Mainly because we have the baby on the way and I just didnt feel safe with her potentially driving around in a tin can with my child in there. Plus, the Honda's got a huge backseat, huge trunk and lots of nice features. We got it in what they call "Taffeta White." It was either that or gold, and wifey just wasn't feelin the gold. Anyway, I feel like I walked away with a pretty good deal. They gave me a good trade allowance for the Focus, and left me with almost no negative equity to transfer over.

Leased it for 36 months, $398 down and $398 a month, including tax. It's got 6 airbags, ABS, crumple zones, anti-theft this and that, 5-speed automatic transmission, and the same estimated fuel economy of the smaller Focus with 36 more horsepower. In all reality it's not a bad looking car. I never really considered a Honda before but after hearing time and time again about their reliability, and resale value I decided what the heck, we'll give it a shot. After all, it's only a short term lease. I'll get pics tomorrow, it's too late and too dark for pics now.

I am glad I quit being so close minded. I love this car!

I agree. I have never owned one myself buy my Brother-in-law and wife swear by them. They have two Accords and one minivan and don't seem to have any problems with them.

I have owned a many cars inclusing a Mustang GT and 2 Explorers....my first Honda was an Odyssey (2002), and it's been the best vehicle I have owned by far.

If I had not wanted a full size truck, it would be import all the way. American cars are simply a league below IMO.

Accords are great cars. That's what the wife wants to get when my truck is paid off. We're gonna trade in her Altima and get her a brand spankin new Accord.

I would have no problem buying a Honda car. They make nice stuff. My buddy just bought a new Civic SI in silver. What a hot looking car!

But when it comes down to trucks Ford is the way to go. I actually like the new look of the Chev Alvalanche though. Just too much money for one.

Don't worry 02SuperCrew4X, it's okay to like other brands.

We are deciding on an explorer or Odyssey for the wife.

I'm dragging my feet regardless because I don't want to plunk the cash down while I'm dropping 1500 a month for college.

Is that what I to look forward too?

Geez, thanks for ruining the next decade of my life.

Black Tie Dinner? Who would want to go to one of those? Sounds like a real Bore.

And what does having a family have to do with a $400 car payment? When you have kids you're required to buy brand new expensive vehicles?
