My choice........TYLER, TX. |
I will vote for Fort Worth. You will have a laid back city for living with the whole Metroplex near you.
|
I vote for Richmond, VA........oh, wait........wrong forum.....:D

* San Antonio: Easily the best combination of size, leisure activities, cost, climate, etc. * DFW Area: I'd lean toward the north side of Dallas if your job requires a lot of air travel. Otherwise, you really can't go wrong with most of the up-and-coming suburbs in the DFW area. And don't overlook Fort Worth -- a little more removed from the activity "hubs" of the region, but still some nice areas to call home. * Austin: A nice area, but the traffic congestion knocks this city down the list a little bit in my book. Kind of the "Affluent-Liberal-Latte" center of Texas, but you can overlook that. I really like the northern 'burbs -- Round Rock, Georgetown, etc. If air travel will be a big factor in your job, DFW is probably your best bet, since it is a "hub" city for American and (I believe) Delta airlines. PS -- You might wonder why I didn't recommend Houston, even though that is where I live. I Live in Houston only because it is where my job requires me to live. I'd move to any of the cities listed above in a heartbeat if it weren't for work considerations. Houston is a filthy, humid, he11-hole that's covered with endless rows of run-down strip malls. |
I'm going for my first time visiting Grahm TX in a couple of weeks.
I'll let you know what I think after I've been there.... So far according to reports and hear say; heat, tons of fire ants, heat, snakes, heat, more freaking armored opossums, heat, ground so dry you have to water your house, did I mention the heat? |
