So i had thought i could just use windows media player to make an mp3 for the truck but cant figure it out. I looked through itunes as well and not coming up with it. Im tired of skipping through 6 cds to find the right one sooo...

Is there a program i can download free to rip them? What do you guys use? Also, maybe a little light on how to set up folders ect.

 

Are you burning MP3s or ripping CDs? You need to understand the lingo if you want us to understand what you're trying to do.

 

I use Musicmatch WMP 10 (I think)

Media player 9 and above should be able to do it though... I've ripped and burned with version 9 or 10...

well i want to make an MP3 so i can play it in my truck.....so rip burn whatever it is. I believe i have the latest media player but not seeing how to keep them in the mp3 format. I see its the 10...havnt used it yet since i just updated. I see there is a rip button and a burn...

UC you sound like you know whats up ha, walk me through this.

 

Do you have the MP3 FILES in a folder?
If so:

1. Put a blank disk in your burner
2. Copy and paste the files to that drive (your burner)
3. Once pasted to the "drive"..Click "Edit" and then go to "write these files to disk"
4. Follow the simple instructions, and Media player should take care of the rest.

CD Burning - Putting Mp3 files into a CD in either normal CD format or as bulk mp3s. I use Nero that I got somewhere.

I dont know any free CD burners as I have not required them.

Yeah, well i want to try to get all the music i have on the media player in an mp3 if its possible. But i would like to make a folder for country, rap, and rock so i can keep them separated. So figuring how to separate the folders is what i also need to figure out. Im using a regular CD-R, 40x 700mb, 80 min....that should work right?

 

When you do this with XP it will work for copying MP3's, but if you try to make a CD audio it will open WMP to copy the files... or at least that's how mine does it...

Its much faster for me to use Musicmatch with a CD in the DVD ROM for ripping...

 

Yep, I like to use CD-RW's (re-writeable) though, since I have more of each genre than will fit on one CD. That way I can go back in later and change it up some...

 

I know what I am going to do tonight......after I finish BRUZR's sig...I will put together a walk through on how I burn MP3's...screenshots and everything.

Ok so i think i figured it out...i am using the "HighMat" audio selection...I think its giong to work like this BUUT....

How can i make like 3 folders inside the CD....Cuz in the truck it has the folders button to go through the mp3...hmm.......thanks for the help so far...maybe ill ship a cd your way.
