I think I've found a bike...

Its a 2000 Vulcan 750, 3800 miles. Its pretty much stock. Looks like the bike in the picture except no bags and no windsheild. He was asking $3000, but said he'd take $2900. That's as low as he'd go. I had my buddy who's got a Vulcan 1500 ride it around, and he said it rides as nice as it looks. The only problem we could find was some rust on the gauge bezels. But I can just powder coat those, and be done with it.

He's got a battery charger, service manual, service records, and owner's manual to go with it.

The misses really likes, and its right in our price range, and seems to be about the same if not lower than what other bikes with more miles are going for. Plus its about $350 under KBB... So, I think I'm going to call him back, and tell him we'll take it...

What do you guys think?

what ever you get, Keep the rubber side down.

Blue Book is around $3300. Keep in mind that the Vulcan 750 has existed basically unchanged for like 15 years. That means they got the bugs worked out & they should be fairly bullet proof. With out seeing it for myself, it seems like a good enough deal. Enjoy:thumbsup:

I say tell him you'll take it and then show up with two amounts of cash. $2400 in cash and $500 in cash in the car. I would be willing to bet you 20 to 1 that he will see all that money (the $2400) and just take it. Then you can take the $500 saved and buy some nice gear. See my point....?

That is a pretty low mileage bike for that year model. Sounds like a pretty good deal. I just bought an 05 Honda Sabre myself and I love it.

I just realized, in this pic, I'm wearing almost $1200 in clothing/gear. Yep, you're gonna need the money...

as a wise man once said "money talks" . he'll come down when he sees green. don't be afraid to walk away though and say i'll think about it. you can always return in ten minutes if you really want it, but a lot of times they come down when they think you are leaving.

Depends on how bad he wants to sell it. He may be the type of guy that would get mad and say forget it if you only brought 2400 when he said least he'd take is 2900. Guess you'll have to find out either way. Good luck.

Well, he said if it sells great, if not oh well, no big deal and I think that was probably the truth... just as if I buy the bike great, if not oh well... In fact I'm still teatering...

I really thought about it last night, and that's almost $3000 worth of Belvedere and El Camino parts... Maybe I should just wait till after the wedding. Go ahead and get the Belvedere finished now...

Don't know. Gonna go ahead, and check on insurance and such, but...

"And there is no such thing as a no sale call. A sale is made on every call you make. Either you sell the client some stock or he sells you a reason he can't. Either way a sale is made, the only question is who is gonna close? You or him? Now be relentless, that's it, I'm done." - Boiler Room

Quote doesn't fit exactly but you get the idea.

sounds good, and i think those bikes were around years ago when i bought my leftover kawasaki gpz550. the mileage is nice and low on it also.

good luck.

on a side note, if i was selling that, and you already looked at it, rode it, and discussed the price, then came back and tried to talk me down further, i'd be real pissed.

but thats just me.

hope it all works out for you.

Closer...That would work fine for me. Hey, if you decide not to buy it, Texas isn't too far from NW ARK...I'll buy it if you dont.

Well, come on up. I think I've talked myself out of it. Looks like I'm going to have to get a set of wheels for the Belvedere (plus other stuff), so just figure its best to wait...
