What I've been doing...

I haven't been on for the last week or so, but with a legit reason, WORK... (Well some of you might think so!)

Here's what I've been up to.

This is after imaging the first 48 PCs:

My new toys (48 port Gigabit switches x5):

Think I have my work cut out for me?
http://www.citlink.net/~dannpegg/100_0921.JPG

So, if you don't see me much for the next few weeks, you'll know why... Either I'm still busy building stuff and cleaning up network cables, or I've managed to take down my entire network.:D

:fyi: What a friggin waste of a day. I got zero PCs imaged and zero cables made for the switches... AND never got to take a lunch and didn't get to run my monthly reports... What a screwed up day it's been...:(

HA! I got you beat. I got up this morning, had a bowl of cereal, fed & walked the dog, stripped down my Dad's room (he's away) and washed walls, ceiling & floor, windows, blinds, dusted, washed the hallway, bathroom, cleaned up my wife's mess from quilting in the basement, chopped ice so water could flow outa my back yard, walked the dog, had lunch, went to the post office, went grocery shopping, vacuumed and washed the living room, kitchen, AND did dishes from last week. Oh ya, almost forgot, vacuumed, dusted, put clothes away in our bedroom, did some laundry and surfed the net for a bit.
The wife should give me something when she gets back from Vancouver on Wednesday, unless I have a party and mess the place up again.

Add 3 kids to that ages 6,4, & 2, and thats my wifes typical day...:fyi:

I, on the other hand, went to work this morning, BS'ed a while, fixed a few locks, and went out to do a fenceline inspection on a Polaris Ranger, which we ended up getting stuck, and had to wait an hour for someone to come get us... Just another day...

You certainly are an equal opportunity purchaser, you have one piece of equipment from virtually every major manufacturer in that one rack!

ViperGrendal Apr 4, 2006 08:14 AM

I'm glad I never really got into the networking stuff that much. I only spent a couple days sitting in a dark closet making patch cables for hours on end.

Rockpick Apr 4, 2006 08:56 AM

LMAO... I'm with Serotta... definitely just about every vendor represented on one rack.

I manage our little network here at the office -- and occasionally play a geologist in real life. We've got 23 nodes... I don't envy that situation. LOL!

HAHA I noticed that too.

That must be why he bought the 48 port so he could add some form of Cisco to the mix.

His customer support section of his rolodex must be just as crazy as the cat cables.

Its probably that yellow cable thats unplugged. I bet if you plugged it in it would solve all your problems.
