One of them also said the curb weight is around 5,300 lbs.
I'm guessing that is pretty close to what the SRT weighs? If this is true, they are trying to sell less power, the same or more weight, for about 10K more than the SRT. Granted IMO the Saleen looks better and will handle better than the SRT, but Saleen really needs to look at the market. The're in a league all their own competing with some nice sports cars with that price tag.
I gotta say. That is one georgeous and well engineered truck. They say the S/C version starts in the high 40's. Still reasonable considering what you get. Anything from Saleen is always first class. here's their link: http://www.saleen.com/s331.htm BTW, check out the supercharger...look familiar?

Ironic, I post this a few weeks ago and it got moved to general discussion.
I had the opportunity to talk to the regional director or sallen at the NAIAS, and got to sit in the show truck.
They aren't going into production until Summer. It is a very nice truck. Definitely a step up from the lightning. The fit and finish are nicer (thanks ford) and it has a rear seat, nicer rims, more power. The only thing he said they did to the tranny is change the covertor. I was a little hesistant about all that power going through a basically stock tranny, but hey... it comes with a warranty.
