Is anyone's house gas Bill going up?

Last month I paid 174 dollars to keep the house set at 68. (one floor ranch with finish basement)

This month I got a bill of 311.00!!!!

I'm turning down the heat to 62 now! who do we thank for high heating cost this year and why, let me guess, the hurricanes caused this?????

for the past 6 months I have paid $27 each month for electric.....I don't run the heater and I don't run the A/C.....I don't leave lights on and the only thing that stays on full-time is my fridge and my freezer......this month my electric bill was $67.......if you ask me......something ain't right...... :coffee:

ouch.

is your house insulated?

I live in Canada and don't spend that in heating oil each month ( and heating oil is more expensive than gas)

Just don't be my wife's grandmother and turn the gas off in the fall because it is rumored to go up this winter

Our last month was $208 for a 3bdr split level in Western Missouri, thermostat was set around 67 and we used the gas fireplace quite a bit in the living room. Not this month!

That's freaking cold man.

Got my annual bill last week.

Tapwater $312 (192 cubic metres)
Electricity $1920 (7840 kWh)
Natural Gas $2158 (3251 cubic metres)

Total $4390
$366 per month

That's including taxes, 6% on water, 19% on electricity and natural gas.

You are not only paying for gas water and electricity but for the transport thru pipelines as well.
Hey they got to make a living too you know...... :(

Roomtemp 68-70 F, at night 61 F
Central Heating

Prices for 2006 will go up a lot.

Last month's gas bill was $224.00. I have a 2000 sq.ft ranch house with a finished basement. I have boiler heat, and enclosed wood burner. I heated my home for 2 1/2 weeks by wood only, and still got the shaft.. Right now i'm heating by wood only. I also just blew 12-15 inches of insulation in the attic. My neighbor has a smaller home and his was over $400.00. We are getting screwed all the way around here. Natural gas, gasoline, electricity, water/sewage and now the rising cost of food, without a cost of living raise!!! Something has got to give???? :(

mine was pushing $400. I only heat my downstairs and i've done all the winter preping ****. I keep the gas heater set at 60 and i try to use my portable electric space heaters and found out my electric bill was around $150, so yea between my truck and heating this winter is killing me.

Just move to a warmer climate....we only tuned the furnace on for about two weeks this year.....but then again, this summer..............

Hell yeah!

My gas bill was $179.00 in December, and they want $307 this month...

Farking TXU/Atmos Energy...

We have been keeping our thermostat on 65 - 68, and we had it on 60 for 10 of the 31 days in December because we were in NY/NJ; and we still got introduced to Ben...

And, get this- it's been in the 60 - 80's in DFW since that first cold snap in early December dropped us to 13 degrees. It was 75 on christmas day (I am a weather nut, so I kept up with Dallas weather, even when I was almost 2,000 miles away.)

Energy Bastards... This winter has been milder than most, for most of the nation- yet our gas is still $2.29 - $2.49 A GALLON, but in Jersey, we were getting it for $2.07 a gallon. What's the excuse for higher gas prices now?

Fears or a warmer than normal summer? An expected increase in summer holiday travel? Or, will they shut down a few refineries due to lowered demand, in order to keep reserves limited?

We had our 500 gallon propane tank filled a few weeks ago, it was at 19% and they only fill it to about 80%, the bill was $632.
