Pontiac G6 Coupe (Who's seen it?)

They showed it last night during the Men's NCAA final. It looks just like the 350 ZX and the G35 Coupe to me, in side profile...

Looks like some corporate espionage was underway in the Nissan design studio- either that, or the 350/G35 designer was lured away from Nissan to Pontiac.
I'll try to find pics.

good job GM.

Saw one this morning actually. Not that different from the Grand Am (different but small enough facelift that they could have continued to call it GA)

Seen it all over.. blah... kinda like the new 500... a vast improvement but still no power & ho-hum styling. Nice job Detroit.

Snapples...

Yep; GM shouldda shoe-horned in that V-6 (Or I-6) from the Trailblazer into this, pumping out about 270 HP; or maybe even the 3.5L from Honda (ala Saturn) and tweak it to 270-280 HP...

That would've been a hit...
It's like someone at GM is sleep walking. They take a car that has the potential to be great, and they leave it at "good".

How sad is that thing?

Pontiac did better with the Solstice:

Well, it has potential..

Put on some aftermarket wheels, tint the windows, rice the tail pipes, and a decent wing/spoiler- and it'll be sweet.

The G6 in person, looks way better than the pics give it credit for...

I can't say the same for the Ford 500; I went to go see it, and was not let down at all by the pictures.

cia.....is your post count going in reverse? I am sure you had more then that a month ago.

Your saying you didnt care for the 500 in person? I personally think the 500 is a neat car. and the price? WOW

The wifey and I drove one awhile back, and thats pretty much all it took. When we get ready to buy, we are getting one of dose.

Exactly... they went 85% of the way, then took a nap.

Why do you think this FORMER GM fan has a German Car, VW Jetta, for the wife & a Ford F150 for me????????

Simple... GM BLOWS!!! As the latest MotorTrend states, GM is a money lending business, GMAC, that loses money on the side making cars. They have an established history of *****ing up a car a soon as it gets real good:

1. Buick GN & GNX. Nothing & I do mean NOTHING could touch these two without adding thousands to the vehicle. As soon as they were perfected ala the 87 GNX, POOF!!! GONE...

2. Pontiac Fiero. When brand new, only had 90 HP & caught on fire alot. After a few years, they were awesome little cars that could out handle most every street legal car on the road. POOF!!! GONE...

3. Chevy Caprice. Every cop I know said the Caprice was better than the Crown Vic. POOF!!! GONE...

4. Camaro. Fire breathing terror that NO MUSTANG could match with out adding a supercharger. POOF GONE... Now they have the SSR?!?! WHAT THE ***** IS THAT!?!?!

They also have an established history of slapping a historic name on a useless FWD POS and insulting their own history.
Impala, Monte Carlo, Malibu, etc... I hear rumors of a FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CHEVELLE!!!! That would be sacriledge to say the least.

I've seen the G6 in person. The 4 door looks like a Dodge Neon on steroids and the coupe is way too bland. If Oprah likes them, I don't. She gave away 217 of them on her show and that couldn't help Pontiac sell them. Want a great deal??? Go to any Pontiac dealer and offer them $18000 for a 04 GTO. Trust me, they wil have them in stock...

I could go on forever... Until Germany INC. makes a "REAL" American Style truck, it will be German cars for the wife & the F150 for me.

KC-10 FE out...
:beers:

I've seen a bunch of them around. It looks nice. I saw the review on Car driver on Spike tv. I did okay. It's no barn burner in performance but it supposed to handle nice and soak up bumps good.

Give me a break. Anytime one of the big 3 comes out with a great looking car, they get hammered. Go buy a Nissan, we don't care here.

I think it looks a bit more like the styling is a derivative of the current BMW 6-Series, though smaller...I kind of like it. It's more aggressive, but more conservative (for Pontiac) that models past...

I've driven one...

VERY FUN TO DRIVE!!! The suspension is a bit loose but, a VERY sweet ride. Needs a few more horses to really compete on the mid-end sporty car range though...

The sunroof is killer!

I might have seen a G6 and didn't know it. Most Pontiacs look the same to my eye.
