Can't get my hood unlatched, HELP!
All of the sudden, my hood will not unlatch. I can feel the cable moving insode the cab, and I can hear and see it moving through the grill.
It seems like it is jammed. Any thoughts on how to get to it? jim! |

Don't feel bad.
My hood 'aint broke', and I've never opened it in my life. I Go to the dealer every month and for 20 bucks they change my oil, stroke my ego, and open it for me. I'm lying, I did open it one time and pretended I knew what I was looking at . |
push down on it and let it go while someone is pulling the release handle.

While someone else pulls the inside release, do a "fonzy" on the hood- but not too hard!

Stick the WD-40 straw through the grill and give it a good ol spray (to the latch that is). Then give it the Fonzy. My Crown Vic had the same problem. The release would only pop the hood up about 1/4 inch. The Fonzy would nomally work, but sometimes I was doing CPR on the hood (really, I'm not kidding). Once you get it open. Give the whole unit a good dose of the WD (and check the springs aswell). Let us know how it goes.

Agree with tsc,
had 2 exploders that were that way. Spray the guts out of it before and after you get it open. If that fails, Zawzall should get it opened up. Sled... |
You get that hood open yet?
There could be some WMDs under there! Did you consider that the outcome of next weeks election could hinge on you operating your hinge? No pressure. 47% Republican, 47% Democrat and 6 % Undecided are waiting to hear! |
