Poll (not really): Who's 'yer ISP?

Cable - BroadBand Baby!
DSL - Almost broadband baby!!
56k - Not even close to broadband baby!
>56K - Stop posting pix you %*#(!
I mooch off of my company's bandwidth
A recent post by jamzwayne prompted me to think - how many folks view this site via broadband and how many are still in the stone age?!

Also, feel free to chime in with bad ISP stories! Like COX for example - will you people ever get your e-mail server running properly?!! And any Wide Open West (WOW) customers, you poor folks don't have full unrestricted internet access!! WOW blocks ports! Bastards!!!

Ahhhh... done with my rant now. I'm a Comcast customer now for 5+ years (since the @Home days) and love every minute of it. Only a few minor issues in 5 years.. not bad!

:lurk:

I am a homeless person.
In case you haven't noticed, I only post when Radio Shack is open.

That's a good post count for being homeless.. well, then again that's only 2.2 posts per day, but still alot of reading. Do you have to rotate what RS you hit up for free Internet? If you steal a laptop while your there, you can park it outside someones home/business and get free internet, unsecured wireless APs are still running rampant!

I haven't shoplifted since that time at Pep Boys when I put four radials under my shirt. the Mgr gave chase and would have caught me if I hadn't tripped and started rolling. They had six miles on them before I ever got them on the truck.

I go into Radio Shack and say very loudly that I need a battery for my hearing aide. I spend the next three hours saying "Huh?" to anyone that bothers me.

For 9-5 I would have to choose option 5.

Other than that cable all the way (Comcast).

Charter Cable.

3 mb/s down

128 kbp/s up.

RED WING NUT Jun 15, 2004 05:21 PM

Comcast customer for 3 years. Just switched to SBC DSL.
Comcast 1700-1800 kbps $43/month
SBC DSL 1300 kbps $27/month

The little bit of speed difference is not worth the extra $16/month to me.

kingfish51 Jun 15, 2004 05:24 PM

Verizon DSL. Before you say anything about DSL, my local cable supplier is Adeplhia. They are also the reason I have satellite TV.
I can't complain about speed, 1.5Mb down and 128Kb up. DSL only available since last Nov. before that all dialup.

TUFF FORD Jun 15, 2004 05:24 PM

I have mine through my cable provider. It's fast as hell but I don't know what it is. I have charter also.

My computer dumped on me about a month and a half ago, so I have been mooching off of my employer while I work.:beers:

sleddogg Jun 15, 2004 09:09 PM

Option 5 at work, mooching is good. Stone age at home, just not worth the money for the kids to use it all the time. Besides, I am way out in the sticks, not many options out here.

Sled...

Mooching off the T3 at work usually, at home I have Adelphia cable.
