F@*K Ebay's Sellers

Alright gents here's what has happened. Awhile ago I bought headights and taillights from two different sellers on ebay. One was Twelve_racing and the other was RedDogMotorSports. And neither one will answer any email that I have sent. Both sellers list email address that say for tracking numbers and any other questions and what not send it here but then dont even bother to reply. One of them listed a phone number, so I called it and got a machine saying that they were busy helping other customers. Well needless to say I have called several times and at different times and got the same result. I'm to the point that I dont even want the items now and just want to get my money back.

What are my options. Anyone ever had this happen to you and what did you do.

I definately understand your frustration but, it's important to note that your situation is somewhat isolated.

Hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of items are bought and sold on ebay in a typical day. Of the folks that are selling the aforementioned items, I'd say a good 98% of them are honest, sincere folks that honor the legally binding contract that enter into when they list items on ebay. Unfortunately, it sounds like you've found a 'volume dealer' that might not be as customer oriented as most.

I've bought and sold numerous items on ebay. I, to date, haven't had any problems.

It may help to simply post the item here that you are having difficulty with that way everyone is informed about the situation and knows where the difficulty stands. In short, we'd probably want to avoid that seller.... not all sellers in general on ebay.

Good luck and keep us posted on what materializes.

Have bought over 50 items on ebay with minimal problems. If you use PayPal you can file a claim with them if not you can use Squaretrade .If you use Squaretrade skip the mediator at first and see if you can resolve it yourself .Remember you have a time limit. ALWAYS CHECK SELLER FEEDBACK and also read THEIR responce to feedback left for them . Some are professional in their responce and some are nasty and ugly.

before i buy anything - i look at what payment methods they accept. if they accept paypal - make sure that it's not a "bank draft only". The best protection is to use a credit card because if you use a credit card and the item is mis-represented in any way, you notify your credit card company and refuse to pay. That's after you make 2 attempts (keep documentation). It's amazing how fast the seller will contact you when they get a charge-back on their account. Then your in the driver's seat - I've done this. "well, you sold me something that wasn't what you said it was, you ignored my 2 documented attempts to resolve this, now you need to pay me for the shipping costs back to you plus $50 for my time. I need cleared payment up front. Don't like it - guess this is free".

Thanks guys for the thoughts. I have sent about ten emails to both of them and have even gone thru ebay to get their contact info and have placed several calls and the only result is
1(redogmotorsports) answering machine that says the mailbox is full and then hangs up on me and 2(twelve_racing) get a voice mail that doesnt identify the owner but I still leave a message with my info.

They wont even reply saying they have no idea who I am.

I too think that the thread name is too harsh and I agree that not ALL sellers on ebay bad. I just hate to be ripped off. And when I started this last night I was very mad.

Are you asking how do you document the fact that you tried calling? It's a long distance call. It would be on your phone bill. Even send a letter, if you have address, via certified mail.

Well good news. After starting the process of B*@&h'in to Ebay and left a neutral feedback on reddogmotorsports (clear headlights) I finally got a tracking number from them and it should be here on Friday. But I'm hoping sooner.

Now if I can get twelve_racing(euro tail lights) to send me something saying that they shipped it out.

Maybe the hang up was paypal and the time that it takes to process stuff. I am just guessing but it seems that something was slowing the process. Still have no idea what is taking so long with the tail lights though.

1 out of 2 is better than getting screwed and nothing at all.

My faith in Ebay just rose alittle. And will post what is still to come.

Well, I must say that I was too premature to say that about ebay. I finally got everything and all is good. I even ordered the white AC control panel, from somebody else of course.

I got the white AC control panel from bigred12r or something like that and it was cheap and they got it to me in VA in four days via USPS priority mail. The fit was nice but the backlighting of the oem panel barely shows thru to the new one.

a friend of mine bought some tires over e-bay. He contacted the seller, finalized things, and sent his money order. Then the seller all the sudden added on a large shipping fee, and my friend asked for his money back. Well after this, the seller was "in and out of the doctors and on vacation". Then, the seller cancelled his old e-mail account and severed contact.
Great deal.
