Finally got my humidor in and somewhat up to humidity (hovering around 65% but I don't trust my analog hygrometer. Ordered a digital. It should ship out tomorrow.)

Here's what I've got in the top tray. That double bladed cutter there is the best cutter I've had and it only cost $3.99! It makes clean cuts with no tearing. Nice and straight!

This is what I've got on the bottom. Stock humidifier on the right and that is an Oshkosh humidifer on the left. Then cigar in the tin on the left are Natural Cigars by Drew Estates. These a great! If you like pipe tabacco, then you'd love these guys. They are hard to get and somewhat expensive though. Then I got some Machine Rolled ones.

I got some more cigars in today in the mail :D

The green ones over on the right are my dads in for saving. Said he had them in the fridge for a couple years :eek: They are dry as hell and one wrapper is cracking. I got them in some tupperware with some distilled water to try to get them back to humidity. I'll have to see if they recover.

Let me suggest two products to you.
The best hygrometer I have ever found and most accurate is by Cigar Perfect. It has a 5 year warrantee and it is an open unit.(no glass, just the coil, needle and backplate). You can stick it directly to your Humidor. A guy sells stuff out of his apartment in California.

The best humidifier you can get is a Paradigm. It is a ceramic piece in a housing. It takes 5 minutes to absorb distilled water and last for about 4 months between recharges. I keep about 50-60 unwrapped cigars in my Humidor at all times and it takes 2 of the small Paradigms to keep it in the 'green' on the hygrometer.

I tried about 5 different hygrometers, both gauge and digital. Nothing compares to the Cigar Perfect.

I got a $32 digital (well, $32 after shipping) already on the way to my house. It is a Western Digital II. I've talked to several people who have used it and tested them against expensive hygrometers that came with calibration tests. i.e. lab quality ones. They one I got coming has been accurate withing 1% RH. Someone else took a whole bunch of them and stuck them all together in a humidor and they all came out within a %1 of each other most being only a couple tenths of a % away from each other.

When I get mine I'm going to compare it to two local cigar shop's hygrometers as well as do the salt test on it. Will probably do the salt test twice just to make sure.

The oshkosh humidifer I have in there is suppose to store enough water for several months and I believe it. It has a huge resivour (sp?) on the side for water and it took I think around 7oz. of my 50/50 mix to fill it the first time.

I think Ill just stick with my copenhagen, seems alot less involved LOL.

Got my digital hygrometer yesterday.

It is a Western Caliper II.

I ran it through a salt test through the night along with my analog hygrometer.

The digital red 76% so it is 1% to high and the analog was around 73% so it is 2% to low. Got them pretty accurate!

My humidor is running around 69% humidity now and all I got in there is the Oshkosh humifier now (the big black one on the left). I took the stock one out because I don't think it is needed now. I'll see how well the humidity holds up.

I now need to get a big cooler so I can buy and store boxes easily. Sams has 115 quart one for $39. I want to see if I can get a bigger one than that.
