Why do SVT dealers never know SVT policies?
Just called my local SVT dealer where I purchased my L for my jumbo list of warranty work. They had no idea I am supposed to get a loaner car. I know this same thing has been posted before, but how does a dealership get the opportunity to sell SVT without knowing anything about it. Now it's a coin toss if I'm going to have a loaner (and a ride home) when I show up at the dealer Monday afternoon. I am bringing all my paperwork that states I get a loaner. *Rant off*
That's nothing, my local dealer used to be an SVT dealer, and then in 1997 they stopped SVT altogether, and now they act like they don't even know what SVT is!?!? That's crazy, it's the same people....
I had to go to 3 different SVT dealers before one would give me a loaner car while my truck was in for a repair. I finally got one it was a nice '02 explorer and it racked up over 2K miles while I had it. It is a shame that you have to argue with a dealer about stuff they should already know about.
Don't they have to pay a fee to Ford just to be an SVT dealer?

A dealer gave me a copy of the letter that ford sent out. it says that owners will receive "special handling procedure" dated 12/17/98.

*SVT Premium Service: Owners and lessees of 2001 model year SVT vehicles will be provided with a complimentary loaner vehicle when their 2001 SVT vehicle is in for service (included warranty work and routine maintenance, other than oil changes). The dealership will also wash and vacuum the customer's vehicle, unless requested otherwise.

Also, you'd think when you set an appointment that the service rep would automatically arrange a loaner. Every time I have to reeducate them and I have to be sure they reserve a loaner...
My revenge is to plan my visits to correspond to a high mile day so I can stuff the miles onto their car...

I had the same problem, I had to prove it to them, and then they would only give me a loaner because I bought it there. My truck has been back twice, they never washed it. I'd rather them not do that anyway.
If they "ACT" stupid, some customers will give in or go some place else. A friend of mine has been in for "The Clunk" 3 times now to the same dealer. He's had to argue for the loaner each time.
