3 Questions about the Platinum

1. Are the Platinum headrests adjustable?
2. Also is the leather the same as in the Lariat?
3. Do you lose any headroom when you get the moonroof?

Thanks guys.

I may have found a deal that will convince me to get a Platinum. I was currently shopping the Lariat and GM SLT.

1. Up and down, yes. Forward and reverse, no.
2. Yes.
4. No (it's the same cab).

Thanks.
As far as the moonroof, I was realize the cab is the same but in the GM the headliner comes down lower and eats up valuable headroom when your 6'4''.

I'm, 6'-2" and I don't have any issues. Keep in mind it also depends on how high your have your seat.

I take it you can't go to a dealer and sit in one? Before I spent that kind of coin I damn sure would...

I'll go tomorrow. I can get a Lariat without it if it's an issue but I think that would leave the Plat. out. Hopefully its got more room than the GMC.

Way more room than the GMC's...I was looking at the GMC 2500's before I bought my F150 and the headliner was pretty low. I am 6'2 as well.

i'm 6'4" and the headliner is not an issue with the moonroof in my 09, this is actually the first truck i've ever owned and didn't have to put the seat all the way back!!! props to ford and making the 150 even more roomy!!!!

Good to hear. I've never had a sun/moon roof before. How do those headrests feel?

The moonroof is an option on the Platinum. $995 at that.

Honestly, I don't think my head has actually touched tha headrest... That or it's so cushy I didn't notice! Seriously, I don't think you will find them to be any different than any other headrest. I do know these are plenty big enough to hold some really nice headrest DVD players!

I really enjoy having the moonroof. My 05 didn't have one and I really missed it on nice weather days...

When I ordered mine in October, the addition of the moonroof lowered the overall price on the truck by about $20. If you got the moonroof, you also got 1k cash back. I didn't want the moonroof, but got it for the resale value since it was essentially free at that time. Incentives may have changed since then.

Headrests are headrests, i liked the ones in my 07 more but these aren't too bad (the 09's tilt slightly forward vs. my 07 from what i can remember), don't plan on using them for a pillow anytime soon but i can go on a 8 hour trip and still be comfortable....

Danc55,
Is this an '09 or '10? They modified the headrests in '10 due to complaints that the '09s come too far forward. They're a little more upright and have a softer feel to them. I think they're perfect now...

I'm looking at a 2010. Glad to hear they won't be an issue. Now how many actually have the transmission issues?
