For how long?

Now for some people they might not know, but how long are you planning on keeping your truck for. For example, till the wheels fall off or till ford comes out with a better truck ect..

Post your plan for your truck!

Possibly another 8-9 months and doubtful longer than the end of 2011. Either will consider what is available with Ford's engine choices(6.2L vs. Ecoboost) or go back to the General and get a Denali. Missing my sunroof, wishing I had gotten all black interior, should have gotten the rear view camera for hooking up the boat and miss the power of my Silverado VMax. Still enjoying driving my F150 though and love, love, love the room in the backseat for the kids and SYNC.

I plan on keeping it until it's paid off. But that hasn't happened with any vehicle I have owned yet. If you were to ask my wife she would say we are keeping it until the wheels fall off.

Well in addition to my '09 I still have my '97 F150 Lariat that is great to have when I really need to haul something nasty. My philosophy is to save up until I can pay cash for the vehicle that I really want and know that I will be happy with for a long time and care for it accordingly. I hate car payments, especially when the newness has worn off and your making payments on a vehicle that you don't even enjoy driving anymore. Trading in a vehicle before it is paid off is like throwing money down the drain!

I keep them 4-5 years generally. I get rid of the diesels before the 100k warranty expires. I like to have the reliability and worry free ownership of newer vehicles under warranty. I'd rather pay 2-300 a month than have large repair bills and shop time. Since I have traded enough paid for vehicles the finance amount is only 12-15k to get back into a new vehicle every 4-5 years. It works for me.

hmmmm that is a good question. I used to say that I was gonna keep it til the wheels fall off. Now Im thinkin it just depends on what the future holds. Once its paid off I may just sell it and get me something newer or I might mod it to fit my needs better. Who knows I change my mind more than a woman I think. lol

I plan on keeping both my 2005 F-150 and 2008 Mustang GT forever -- literally!

I special-ordered both vehicles new and it has been my intention since Day 1 to keep them as well-cared for examples of FoMoCo products from this era. I will put about 500 miles per year on each, and only on sunny days with no risk of precipitation. If he ends up being a car guy, I will pass them onto my son (hopefully many years from now ) when I head off to that great big garage in the sky!

If it turns out my son does not develop into a car guy I will probably sell or give them to someone else who will have a true appreciation of the vehicles.....

I trade every 2-3 years. It's a sales vehicle for me, and I put about 40K a year on the odometer. Absolutely love the Sync system....the "new" smart phones are a pain in the *** to use at 70mph. The Sync saves me more than an hour a day of sitting on the shoulder navigating through the POS they call a phone.

I used to trade every 2 or 3 years. When I got my 05 Lariat I intended to keep it for the long haul. I got through over 4 years and all was good until I got t-boned by a lady... The truck was repaired but was never the same again. I tried for 6 months to reconcile in my mind that the truck was okay. It really was a source of frustration that I didn't want to deal with any longer... So along came the 09 Platinum... I intend to keep this one for the long haul now, along with the wifes 08 Expy...time to get past the car payments...

I bought my other truck in 2001, a used 97 with 67k on it. I got rid of it in Sept. of 2009 with 170k. I plan on keeping my '06 for a long time.

Maybe for another year. I like 02 screw but not enough power, the gas tank is too small, without a supercharger I'll never be happy with the power. Thinking about an older powerstroke.
