Side mirrors and turn signals?

I just got the '09 STX without the LED turn signals in the mirrors. Now I did a search and couldn't find a specific answer to my question: Can I add the turn signal LEDs into the current mirrors (since the hole is there for them)? Is the wiring there inside for it?

Now if I can't do the mod but can only swap the mirrors for the FX4 style, how much do those mirrors cost for the pair?

Nice write-up. That looks easy enough.

The question is, are the wires there for it in the STX?

I have an 09 STX with just the power mirrors. Yesterday I installed the turn signal/heated mirrors on my truck. The turned signals worked with no problem. I still need the new Cilmate control unit to get heater working.

So were the wires for the turn signals already wired to the door? How are you able to add heated mirrors? I would like to do both to my STX.

Size: 75.0 KB AS you can tell i have an stx, the mirrors are from an fx4 with turns single and door lamp.. everything is plug and play.. how ever the heater works off climate unit, which also give you the indash read out of the temp. and as far as wires, there arent any that you will need to mess with, everything will be connectors, just plug them in and go.

Sweet, what did those cost you or did you do a trade for someone's FX4 mirrors?

The turn signals were wired in the doors already. I should be getting the new climate control unit today with the heated mirror switch in it and hopefully installing it this weekend and then I will know if the heat part works OK. I actually went on car-parts.com and did search for mirrors in junkyards. Found a set in PA. They were new take offs from some who put tow mirrors on truck.

2012 Ford f-150 STX

I have a 2012 STX and was wanting to add the tow mirrors that have the turn signal, my current mirrors do not they are power only. Are the wires for the turn signal there already? The dealer says no that it is a completely different harness if your truck does not come with turn signals in the mirrors. I'm pretty sure I will not be able to use the power extend and close feature as I was told this is a different harness as well.
