Tranny TSB

Has anyone had any issues after getting this done? I would like to take mine in for this but I am nervous about it just getting worse. I'm about to flip a coin on whether I should or not. Do I just live with the few harsh shifts a month or risk more problems after I take it in?

Mine had the TSB performed on it. Shifted nicely afterwards but some of the harsh 1-2 shifting is making its way back.

Is it annoying? Yes, but slightly. Will I press the dealer for another flash? Nope.

Is it even worth the bother?I had an appt to get mine done but backed out. Some members claimed it made it worse and the service manager claimed the 2010 did not have this problem???

I had mine down back around June 09......all was well until recently. I had the harsh shiftness return.....it was pretty bad. Well, I went back over the TSB and the paperwork I got from the dealer. It seems the TSB specifies that the vehicle must be driven for certain intervals with specific braking points. Well, my truck came out with the same mileage as it went in with. So to me the TSB wasn't performed correctly. It couldn't have been with nothing on the odometer.

So, I voice this to the dealer.....they claim the TSB was done and they didn't find anything wrong. In fact, they said it drove better than other new ones on the lot. So, I leave....and guess what? The truck is driving perfect. Nice and quite.....smooth shifts/downshifts.....they said they didn't do anything but they must have.

I recommend you keep on them if you have it done and it's not better or comes back. For what's it's worth - the dealer mentioned Ford was working on a new transmission flash, but no details on release time frame.

Best of luck!

Had my transmission TSB done 3,000 miles ago. Some shifts are better but the harsh downshift is worse, but only when it is cold. The dealer is puzzled also, but they have agreed to stay on it until they get it right. I will probably have them do it again next time it is in for service unless they come up with some other solution.

Had the 1-2 hard shift problem when I first got the truck...thought about having the flash done after reading about it here. Looked like a mixed bag of results so decided not to. Don't have that problem anymore so I guessin' that my transmission learned my driving style & adjusted itself.

I had a hard 1-2 shift only when the trans was cold. The new TSB was loaded and I have not had a issue since. It was done 4 months ago.
