Question best brake pads

brother has a 2006 F 250 4X4 with only 130K, it's really a keeper and he's wondering which brake pads here in 2018 are the best investment.....thanks

I recommend Powerstop brakes... https://www.powerstop.com/

I also recommend replacing the rubber brake hoses too.

I suggest you google ceramic versus semi-metallic brake pads and read up on the differences.

From what I have read, ceramic pads won't dust up your wheels as much. Ceramic pads won't conduct or absorb heat as much therefore reducing fade upon repeated heavy braking and will keep the calipers and brake fluid cooler. However, they are not as effective in braking as the semi-metallic pads and since braking converts the kinetic energy of motion into heat and the ceramic pads don't conduct heat as well, the rotors will get hotter under the same braking compared to semi-metallic pads.

I've always used semi-metallic pads from Autozone and I have been happy with the results. Rotors now is a different subject. buy the best quality you can find.

I've used Aekbono ceramics on my 05 since new, running 35" tires and pull a 20' boat most of the summer with no issues or any sort of brake dust. I would definitely use them again.

X2 on this. I've used them on many vehicles and never had a problem.
