F250 dying on me
No check engine light. If I cruise along at an idle, and then give it gas. It dies. 94 250 5.8 liter. It always starts right back up. I took it to my local mechanic. No codes. He cleaned the throttle body and checked the fuel pressure. It's still doing it. Any suggestions? This is really bothersome when I am driving slow like when driving the pipeline trail out to my remote cabin. It's very rough and I have to creep along. Dies almost every time I step on the gas.

Does it happen only off road? How often does it happen? MAF,ERG Sensor, TPS, ??? no codes?
If only off road, wiggle some wires?? |
No codes. It will do it any time I'm just idling along and the give it gas. Doesn't matter whether smooth road or rough. Seems to not die until after I've driven a few miles.

Read this page. I know you don't have any codes but, it worth a shot?

Still running the factory exhaust at 110,000 miles. Could the catalytic converter be causing this?

Cat's should be
OK |
unplug iac and see if there is a difference. Some say you can clean them, I fried one trying to clean it. New motorcraft plugs, and new msd wires, cap, and rotor is what these trucks like. Stocks cats do suck on these. If you have a good welder buddy, you can get catco 2.5" highflow cats cheap off ebay. Have one welded into your factory y pipe. If you don't have the factory cats you can remove the pulley off the smog pump and run a shorter belt. Or just leave it as is, doesn't matter.

My mechanic is suspecting the IAC. I told him to go ahead and slap a new one on. If that doesn't fix it, will try a new TPS next.
