Looking for someone with an F250 4x4 6.2, 4.30 gears
Hey guys, looking at new trucks. I could use a 3/4 ton truck but the powerstroke is a little more than I need and a little too costly for my budget. When I ask about gas mileage I hear everything from 11 mpg "at best" to people who say they can get 17mpg "easily".
Could someone with a 6.2 and 4.30 gears reset there average mpg meter, drive at 55mph for a stretch and 65 mph for a stretch and post up what it shows as average mpg at those speeds.
I drive 30k+ miles a year so MPG is pretty important. Most of my driving is on 55 mph backroads with a couple stretches where I do 65. I squeeze out an average of 21 mpg out of my 5.4 with these speeds. I know the 6.2 superduty will be a drop, just want to make sure its not too much.
Thanks

Yep. I get anywhere from 21-23 for my 75 mile commute according to my scan gauge depending on how many stop lights I catch and how hard the wind is blowing. My hand calculations for a whole tank shows 21mpg.
My lifetime average (hand calcualted) is 19.1
That is with a lot of 17 mpg tanks of city driving in New Orleans.
Not bad for a truck rated for 14 city / 19 hwy
