I'm having engine problems when driving only. Seems like a severe miss with no power. Think its a coil pack. Problem is on #3 and #7, the coil packs have what looks like a resistor on the end of the spring. Auto parts guys never seen this and I can't buy one from them to replace. I tried putting a coil pack (#7) like whats in the rest of the motor, but when I start the truck it has a noticable miss at idle. Put the old one back, idle is fine but problem is still there. OBM II says misfire on 3 and primary secondary coil failure on "G" Whats G??? Any suggestions?

 

Not till you tell us what year and model your truck is and what engine it has...............

 

Right what are you referring to ? They haven't used coil packs since 2001 on the V8 4.6L's. Ford NEVER used coil packs on the 5.4L's and V10's.
