does anyone own a 2wd F250??

i see tons of 4wds here but no 2wd. i think i am about to upgrade my F150. the third child is on the way and my TT have max out the F150. my dealer has 6 08 F250 but all are 2wd and they have great rebates and i have an xplan pin so i should be set. just have to make the decision on which one!!!

Sure do

1997 F250Crew, Shorty, 7.3L PSD, E4OD, 4.55 ratio.

She's got an altered Airbox, and will make 25mpg on pure highway miles, as in Truck stop, get Diesel, drive until at 1/4 tank, pull over at truck stop more diesel.

17MPG in town, and around 19MPG mixed.

However, I can not take her off roading.... EVER... so if that is something you do a lot, no good. As far as an option, it is an expensive option if it is never used. Also will Cost you 1-3MPG in fuel economy.

You are looking for a Diesel right?

yes they are all diesel.

only time i see off road is on a trip to the hunting camp, which the last 2 years has only been twice. the road is a dirt county road, but a few areas the log trucks have torn up. if it is torn up too bad, i can drive around to the part that ppl live on. county does a really good job there.

mainly looking for the increased interior room and to tow my TT!!!

Besides Budha and Vulcan, nobody else does I don't think. If you're getting a 2wd diesel, you'll be stuck in wet grass. Seriously.

Oh, and an 08 won't get nearly the mileage that my any of the other trucks on here get, purely due to the emissions BS on it... I average 16-18 MPG in my 4x4, and I'm not the easiest on it. I'm sure on a road trip I could get 20.

I'd think you'd be fine with just rear wheel drive... just treat it like a Mustang on steroids. :D

No truck should be scared of wet grass... Therefore, 4x4 is a must.

If you get a standard shift F250 diesel, you will be fine... just use like 4th gear...

But on the lighter side..

My truck almost got stuck on my puny front lawn last week... :o

And what'da know, someone asked me at work what trail I got stuck on... and all I had to say was I got stuck in my front yard in my lawn. Talk about embarrassing... :o

Then again, this guy didn't get stuck... but it sure is funny to watch... (even though its a REPOST)..

It'll still spin em... 2wd and a diesel sucks. Especially with a trailer.

Tell me about it...

I was at the state fair last year and this guy had an unloaded midsize horse trailer attached to his F250 diesel 4x2 and he got stuck in the grass in the middle of the summer in dry dirt.

I have the '66 and '08.

If I need 4x4 to tow I still have my '02 however.

If you don't use it, no point to get it. Good tires and a little bit of skill can get out of most situations a 4x4 can easily make worse.
