05 F250 Impressions

Hey all, I really like my f150 but I found an 05 F250, extended cab, 5.4, Manual tranny, FX4 package, camper shell, for 17900. If I can get them down abit and a good trade in on my 150 i MAY get it. Wondering what you all think. I will be towing my explorer with it, maybe 8k total. What should I expect mpg wise unloaded? What are your thoughts on a truck like this? I'm really diggin it but i'm not a person to jump in without looking. Thanks

they say the 5.4 behind the F-250 has no ***** to it, particularly under load. personally, i would consider a V-10 model. TONS of torque, there.

I agree with minimonster17. The 5.4l engine is fine in the F150, but it is a bit underpowered for the F250. Many F250's have the 5.4l engine and a lot of people love them. It's all personal preference. To me, if you're only going to get a 5.4l, you might as well stick with the F150. The only real reason for going to the Super Duty is for increased payload and towing, and you will really only see those increases with the V10 or PSD.
