Howe's Diesel Fuel Lubricator
I have been using Diesel Power Diesel Kleen usually every other tank and have been satisfied. Last week, while filling up, I got to talking with a big-rig driver filling next to me. He gave me an empty jug of Howe's Lubricator and told me that this was the best stuff he had ever used. Claims increased power and fuel milage. Said on his last haul went 1300 miles on 150 gallons with a full load - I know that's not out of sight milage, but for a big rig loaded, it doesn't seem too bad considering I get in the mid 10's pulling a 14K fiver at 65MPH.
He told me that it is available at just about all truck fuel stations on the interstates (Pilot, TA, etc.) Was wondering if anyone has heard of the product. Their web site is: www.howeslube.com Don't know that I want to change, but it seem a bit intreging. If I could get that to 11MPG pulling the fiver, I may have to consider it. Thanx in advance. |
Looks legit, but never used it myself.
The company's accountant looks hot... http://www.howeslube.com/stuff/conte...hoto/mabry.gif "Howes was voted #1 in the “Best Fuel Additive” category four years running in the Reader’s Choice Poll. Raechel Mabry Account Executive" Give it a shot and let us know. Adrianspeeder |
I'm sold, with an account executive like that, the product has to be good!
I wonder if she will be my account executive if I use the product ... Next time I'm driving past a truck stop, I'll grab a bottle and give a seat of the pants report after a couple tanks. |
That's about all I've seen for a Diesel Fuel additive around here. Good anti-gel properties too, never heard a complaint about it.

I've never been very impressed with it. I ran one full bottle through the truck over time and it didn't do squat for my mileage. If you were running Diesel Kleen by Powerservice then thats part of your problem. I've run a few tanks with that in it and that actually hurt my mileage. I had been running Powerservice in the white bottle, but recently changed to the 911 red bottle Powerservice. Due to the higher cetane rating it has boosted my mileage. I'm currently driving from Iowa back to PA right now. So far I've been averaging about 16mpg empty at 70mph on the 911 formula. On the trip out I was only getting 14-15mpg under pretty much the same conditions, only using the white bottle. This is all on winter blended fuel. Now with the 911 it makes no difference in mileage if I'm on ULSD or LSD.

I use it all the time, just a cup full at every fill-up i my pick up and full jug in my kenworth. keeps fuel from gelling in winter also lubes injector. never had a problem using it. not sure about fuel mileage due to heavy right foot.
