Key Fob Programming

Have a 1997 F250SD bought it used and it had door locks that worked. I bought a new Fob and want to program it to the truck. I took it to the deler and he said it was not a ford Fob, I was told to turn on and off the 8X, 10X, a 2 pin connector under dash(cant find) so far nothing. my Fob is a TRW that came with the truck and works need to program the other.

I know on most ford vehicles that you turn the ignition switch 7X or 8X times to the click right before run and the doors will unlock then lock again and then u hit the fob button and it should program that... Thats how I have always done all my cars. .

Check in the owners manual for the proper instructions. I just programmed an additional fob for my 2006 F-250. There are specific steps that have to be taken to program the fob to work with your truck. If you miss one step or wait too long to do one of the steps, it will not work and you will have to start the process over. Took me 3 tries to get mine right.
