F150 Club XLT or F250 as daily driver?
I'm just about to decide on a purchase of an F150 XLT Club cab but I can't help but notice the F250 diesel (auto, extended cab, short bed). I'll be using the vehicle primarily as a daily driver but will tow a small boat on occasion, so both trucks seem to be tied as far as MPG goes.
Price-wise, the Diesel F250 is about $5k more, but it holds its value better, and I love the look of it.
I guess my question is whether or not the F250 would work as a daily driver or not. I've had friends over the years with such trucks but it seemed overkill... is it?

from my expierance, more expensive trucks lose thier value quicker than less expensive trucks...spending a extra $$$$ for the power stroke to convince your self it will depreacate less is silly....the F-150 can haul more than just a small boat...I'm of the old school, A truck has to have a 8 ft box, or it's just a heaver car....what ever you buy, buy it for the deal you can get and don't worry abought depreacation

Yeah, I guess the kicker here is the deal I'm getting ($10k off MSRP). That sticks me with a tiny bed because that deal is on a supercrew with 5.5' bed ONLY or a Super-duty shortbed..of course the $10k off on the SD isn't confirmed yet!
I'm currently using a Rav4 and 4x8 utility trailer, so it can't be any worse than my current inconvenient setup!

on the other hand a diesel may not be such a bad purchace...
seeing gas is gonna be over 3$ a gal soon with the "summer driving season" coming soon...
and i really dont see diesel rising that fast
diesel goes up in winter
the tourque and grunt is far superior to a gas model
with a chip a diesel can get up to 20 mpg
i however dont have a chip....
the choice is yours my friend

I had an '02 F-150 SuperCrew and now have an '06 F-250 CC. I needed the extra tow capacity of the 250, but if I didn't, I'd take the 150, no question about it. It had a FAR better ride and the 5.5 foot bed worked fine for anything I ever needed to haul. With the tailgate down 4X8 sheets of building material fit on it no problem.
