Tires
Hi, I am getting tires in the next few weeks and I'm want to go from a 265/75/16 to 295/75/16. I want to know if they will rub at all or not? My truck is stock, no lifts or perfomance mods yet.

It sort of depends what code front springs you have. If you have X code springs you're fine, the others could be questionable. Worst case scenario is either put in X code springs ($200-300) or put on a leveling kit (same cost).

It should be on the sticker in the door jamb. The X code are also the springs you get when you ordered the plow package. If you didn't get that option most likely you don't have them.

Some trucks 295's work, some they rub. 285's work almost 100% of the time.

Thanks guys, I did check the sticker but couldn't find anything indicating what spring code I have. I'm getting the tires on wednesday so I guess i'll find out then if they rub. I am looking into a leveling kit in the spring/summer next year, any suggestions on what brand I should get would be appreciated.

I've got 305/70/16 on a stock 03 250 with the 7.3.No rubbing at all.
I run the Maxxis buckshot mudders or the Maxxis bighorn (more aggressive tread) Sorry no pic. I will try to snap one monday. I just put the bighorns on last Thursday they ran me like $561.00 out the door. |
