Went to show my wife a SD CC 250 4x4

Well, since I was approved by my wife to purchase a SD CC 250 4x4 I thought it would be nice to show her what all the begging and crying was about. Well, I couldn't find one in all of Houston! Nope, not one. Every dealer I called said "sorry, can't keep em on the lot for more than a couple of days". Oh well, I plan on ordering mine soon. So in about 6-10 weeks I can show her what all the fuss was about.

Joe543 -
You can see pictures of mine - just follow the link in my signature.
It is a mere 4x2 but the 4x4 is only 1.5 inches higher and usually has an ugly (IMHO) "4x4" decal on the rear of the bed.
Enjoy your new truck...

What engine did you pick?

Joe543 12-01-1999 08:53 AM

I haven't quite decided yet. The v8 or v10. The most I'll tow would be a 17-20ft Boston Whaler.

But, I have a question about lifts. I've been hearing guys talk about installing lifts when thier trucks arrive. I plan on lifting mine as well. However, I was expecting to do it after the warranty expired. Wouldn't the lift void or some way affect the warrant?

Thanks for the answers!

2hi4u, where can I find that information?

Joe

2hi4u 12-01-1999 01:20 PM

do a search under "Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act "

Joe543 12-01-1999 01:38 PM

Ok, 2hi4u. I found the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Can you explain it to me in plain english please. I uderstand (i think)that Ford would not warranty any aftermarket items(expected) but would have to warranty the original equipment. Do I have to explain what I plan to do to my truck at the time of purchase?

Has anyone had any problems? I'm lost.

I plan on putting one on my 2000 soon. Yes they have to warranty the original equipment. They have to also prove that the aftermarket parts cause the problem to your truck. The aftermarket business would not make parts that you put on your truck and cause problems. They would go out of business. Did that help?

Joe: another thing you can do is talk with your ford service department about the lift. Kind of feel them out to see how they would react if you did add a lift (or anything else). Some service depts are completely OK with mods. Some go high and to the right. Find out beforehand which one your ford dealer is.

Definitly get the V10 then. You wont be disapointed! Ive ridden in a 99' with the V10 and its peppy and pulls strong.

J-C...go check out The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. There is a lot of stuff about adding aftermarket stuff to a new trucks.
