2001 Superduty 5.4L Skipping....

My brother has an 01 superduty with 28000 miles on it, and it was skipping a little, so he put new plugs in it. It didn't help. What I mean by skipping is that when you give the truck the gas, or just rev it up, it has a almost like a sputter, or skipping like I said. He thinks that a Coil may have gone bad, but I wanted to post to see if anyone has had this problem before with a 5.4L superduty. Thanks.

I had a similar problem with my '00 5.4 SD - or at least it sounds similar to what you described. Mine ended up being a faulty PCM when all was said and done.

I had a similar problem. Turned out to be a faulty coil on the passenger side at the rear. After I replaced that, purred like a kitten again. Good luck
