Post 2002 Expedition model changes

Has anyone heard about a 2002 Expedition model change? I read somewhere that it was due a major face lift. I have a 97 and am thinking of a new supercrew or a 02 Exp.

I wonder when we will start to see spy photos?

I've seen "spy photo's" and as far as the exterior, it gets the Nav looking front face. It's speculated that it may get 4 wheel independent suspension too, according to what I read. I wish I could remember where it was. I found it on the net about 6 months ago.

Cool

The 2003 model year Expeditions and Navigators will be "significantly restyled" and will be available during the calenday year 2002. The Expy will get a new 5.4L 3v engine getting generating more HP and getting better fuel economy than the current 5.4 2v engine. Also there will be a new 4.5L V6 diesel offered. The Navigators 5.4L 4V 3oohp engine will get a 25hp increase.

The Navigator will for certain get the IRS and third row seats that fold into the floor (more room with IRS). I have seen an article that says the Expedition will get the same treatment (Motortrend) but when reviewing Ford production documents published at Blue Oval News, it mentions IRS on the Navigator/Blackwood but says nothing about offering it on the Expedition. It is always possible they will offer it on the Navigator first and make it available on the Expy some time later as they have done on occasions in the past.

The Car Connection published a "spy picture" of a current Expedition with a Navigator like bumper on it ...sporting an IRS, but this is just a mule and not an indication of what the vehicle will look like. http://www.thecarconnection.com/index.asp?article=363

whats crazy is that the expy that came out in 2003 just now got a full makeover for the 2018 year. 15 years on the same platform.
