Best sounding air filter?
Hello everyone!
So I am looking to replace the air filter in my 5.4L 2002 F150. I'm looking for something that has a nice sound to it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to get? Thanks guys. |
Really .................

An air filter is an air filter, there's no sound difference. Might as well just use a standard Motorcraft paper filter.

Sorry yes, i meant intake. When i posted this I had done my research but videos were kinda hard to listen too. Couldn't hear much difference. Not sure if that was just the video or if there actually isn't much of a difference.

There really isn't much difference unless you happen to get one that fib rates and has a loud whistle.

I'd save your money and do a Gotts mod to the stock airbox.

If you want some free performance, do the Gotts mod, as glc suggested.
If you want some looks and intake noise, get any metal intake, like the 77 Series from K&N. Most will steer you away from these, because they can increase IAT's during some driving scenarios, and require a tune to get the full performance benefit. |
The oiled filter can also foul the MAF sensor if not serviced correctly, and it lets more dust in than a dry paper filter.
