Experimental 4.2 exhaust

Going to make a change in the exhast on my 4.2. Think I will install a Magnaflow 14568 which is internally X-piped and take it out in front of the rear wheel Lightning style. Anyone try this one???

On V8s many have. Why do you want to run dual midpipes? It will not benefit you in any way unless you try to race your truck. I would run a single exhaust with a double outlet tip lightning style.

I have been thinking if taking this route with my 4.2 paired with a flowmaster 40. How does a lightning style dump effect the exhaust sound wise? Sry didnt mean to hijack just curious.

Much louder inside, a little louder outside too, better looking than duals out the back in some cases.

I would avoid the Flowmaster unless you are a fan of drone. I have one and despise it.

It is still the only muffler that sounds half decent on a V6.

^ Not really. The crossover is too far back to do any good. It does help mellow out the choppy sound a little bit though.

Will be installing heads, cam, and manifolds from supersixmotorsports very soon and want the exhaust done now. Presently running a single with turbo muffler, and am surprised how quiet it is.
