Hello Forum I just got my first car after years of working to save money for it, it's an 07 F-150 extended cab 5.4. Everything on it is stock and very basic, so what i need from you my friends is the best and cheapest way to it #1 sound better. #2 perform better. I am broke after buying this so don't get to crazy. ;P Thanks

Run a 3" outlet Magnaflow Y pipe to a 3" intermediate pipe, Magnapack 3" muffler, or Borla XR1, or Flowmaster Super 10 series, and tips of your choice exiting to your choice.

not a car, f150's are trucks and X2^ on the mufflers stated although the cheapest one is still $60, so still not that "cheap"

or just stick a 2.5" dynomax bullet with a 4" tip and call it quits if you really wanna go cheap but get good sound.

vids do no justice the the real thing but go on youtube and look up vids for the stated mufflers. I'm sure you'll find something YOU like, which is what matters.

Yes all of them, imo, sound great. Price range per muffler varies, $60 - $120 as I recall. The Super 10 being cheapest, Borla XR1 most expensive.

$60 isn't cheap? For t-409 at that. There are t-304 stainless mufflers out there running $120 base. $60 is quite cheap to me at least.

Take a breather and study the forums and save some dough.

Catback SI/DO muffler with dual polished tips out the back for looks and some sound ...
... and a tuner for go a...
... and do the Gott's Mod for cheap ...
... and then some good wash and wax stuff for show.

As to tuners, I'm really pleased with my Superchips Flaspaq 1865 and the 87 perf tune. There are others, and some with custom tunes for usually more $$$.

Depends on what you want.

It is and then it isn't. If you're broke, it's expensive. If you make about $140 every two weeks like me, it's exspensive. lol

If you own two trucks and you are in college, like me, it's exspensive

I have been looking on the forums for multiple things i've look at the sound and looks of some exhaust systems on here but when I search google for the parts either it can't find it or its like 500 for one piece im a senior in high school and I work when I can and am making about $110 a day but I can only work like once a week so most of that money is going to gas so I can't buy a 500+$ exhaust lol

personally i'd go with the super 10, but that's cause my preference is the flowmaster sound, and that i'm not impressed enough to buy a straight through muffler when pages these guys link here show a whopping 2 hp gain over flowmaster. In a truck that definitely isn't gonna make a difference. But just about anyone on here and from what i've read and listened to exhaust vid wise, save for borla. they do sound good and they are "the winningest exhaust for 30 years" or something like that.

There aren't nearly as many posts or videos out there of flowsound mufflers versus the big names, but I bought a single chamber for cheap off ebay and am very happy with the results.
