I hear and read that CAI's are all hype and you'd be wasting your $...maybe just a Gotts mod for free? Though if you were to get one I also read that getting the oil-less filter is the way to go. I think Airaid has one? Not too sure though.

Good luck!

I reinstalled my snorkel after noticing all the salt and road muck from winter getting into my airbox....

With the snorkel on, it does'n get 1/2 as dirty...

Then leave the stock intake alone.

Money is better spent on a tuner with custom tunes.

has anyone done the gotts mod on a 2010? and did it make a big difference?

I'll be adding a Volant CAI and Gryphon CTS in a month or so.. Volant & AFE claim to add 16HP & 16lbs of torque..

I had a Banks Ram-Air on my old truck and felt like it added some power.. + I really liked the way it sounded!

:lol::lol::lol:

In reality - it'll simply lay down @ 4,000 rpm & above.

Hopefully the cover also doesn't melt as has been known to happen.

Man - what PIECE OF JUNK.

Searching will pull up all the details.... :coffee:

I'll duck down as I post this to prevent being hit upside my head with the flying remarks...I have a K&N cai on mine and love it. IDK if it makes more power or more mpg, but it sounds a lot more like an old-school 4 barrel with the secondaries opening when I punch it and adds a nice complimentary note to the magnaflow - music to my ears. (and hopefully PHP will get my tunes to take advantage of it.) :-)

Yeah - they DO sound nice, minus all the OEM Helmholtz wizadry.

At least K&N chose a spun thermoplastic that can actually survive under a vehicle's hood - a 'minor' R&D step Volant apparently was too lazy to perform.

Good to hear yer taking the proper approach with the tuning corrections.

:beers:

Hi.

You betcha!

Have a look what Bill discovered - (2009 results will reflect similar gains for an '10) ...

Best news? It's FREE and actually has independently confirmed & measurable gains, while keeping the terrific OEM 12"x12" panel filter.

OOhhh.. melt? That wouldnt be good, I live in Florida. Maybe I will reconsider what CAI I go with. My Banks never melted but I assume it was made out of a better plastic?
