Help me out

Hey all, I have been doing some research but I was wondering If i could run 3" true duals to 4" tips with only 2 high flows on a 5.4, any gains with this system or does it sound stupid?? I want to redo my current setup that i have now soon and im just trying to get some ideas from anybody. I have my 4 stock cats, true duals 2.5" pipe to 3.5" tips and that's it. thanks guys.

3" true duals is wayyy to big.

3" true duels are way to big, 2.25" would be the best for performance.

yeah thats what i thought but wasnt sure thanks for the reply tho. what kinda exhaust should I run tho? should i stick with 2.5 with the high flow or 2.25. im looking for a loud aggressive setup.

I think the 2.25" is the best, not sure if the pipe size changes the sound at all seeing that its only .25", that really depends on the muffler you choose.

3" duals is much too thick for these modular V8s. 2.25" will perform better but stick with the 2.5" if you want it loud. It will perform just fine, no need to re-do it all. Add hi-flows and you will be in business.

Heres 2.5" true duals with hi-flow cats.

Is your exhaust 2.25"? 2.5" sounds a little louder and clearer under throttle than 2.25", very hard to notice unless you know your exhausts.

My exhaust is 2.25" from the manifolds to the mufflers, and 2.5" tailpipes. When I had my true duels installed I kept the back half of the Flowmaster kit that was on the truck to save $$.

DarrenWS6 you are the man finding those videos for me thanks. i really like the no crossover video and the 1st video under the x pipe. what do you think i should do? it sounds to me that the crossover video would be louder.

No problem. The X pipe balances great and keeps your low end good and its still quite a loud setup.

gettin rid of those 4 cats and puttin 2 highflows in will increase your sound TREMENDOUSLY
