Hanger Broke off on Magnaflow Pipe

Just like the title says, the hanger on the midpipe on my magnaflow kit broke off and left a gaping hole in the pipe. I know maggie has a lifetime warr on the mufflers, but I don't know about the pipes themselves. I have to give troyer a call and get my exact date of purchase and find what to do next.

UPDATE Called manaflow and was told the pipes have a lifetime warr also. Called troyer and talked to Crystal and told her that magnaflow said I have to go thru them for warr. so now Crystal is working on it, I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Is there a way to put some JB weld and a band clamp on it for now?

UPDATE Talked to Anita at troyer today and magnaflow is going to warr the whole kit. I just have to wait until they send me a new one, then I have to take off the old one and send it back to them. Overall, I'm happy with it, it's more than i expected. I thought they would just send me the one pipe that has a hole in it, not the whole kit.

Nice service! It's good to know that there still are some companies out there that WILL stand behind their product.

why not just take it to a muffler shop and have them weld it back for free in 30 seconds?

He has to send the old one back in, and as far as I can tell, the only thing wrong with the old one is a broken hanger/hole in the pipe. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great Magnaflow/Troyer is doing this, and if there were something wrong with the mufflers themselves, I'd go through the whole process as well. This seems like a waste of time/energy for something so small that can be fixed so easily/quickly. I've broken several hangers and had that very annoying exhaust noise/hole in my pipes and it takes nothing to weld the hanger back and plug the hole up.

That is all thats wrong with it, the muffler itself and the rest of the pipes are fine. Since there is a warr on it and I paid for it when I bought it, I'm going to use it. And I was told that I would not incure any cost in this at all, meaning they are including a prepaid shipping label with the new kit so all I have to do is pack up the old one and call the man in the brown truck to come get it. If I had to pay to ship it, I would just fix the hole and get on with my life.

UPDATE Anita from troyer called me today and said the new kit is shipping out tomorrow and I should have it by early to mid next week. The old kit was a SI/DO split rear exit #16614, that kit has been superceded by #16520, the only thing different is the new kit includes an extension pipe to allow fitment on a screw w/6.5' bed. I don't know which one I'm getting, it all depends on what they have sitting in their wharehouse.
