Is the kit completely stainless steel?

Yes it is, so was the old one. Magnaflow uses the better 304 stainless on the muffler and tips only, the pipes get the cheaper 409 stuff just like ford uses. The old pipe where it broke was not thin like you would expect from rust on a plain steel exhaust, it was full thickness just like it was on day one. My guess, it had a bad weld and that weld cracked, eventually the crack followed the weld around the hanger and made a complete circle, and voila, a hole in the pipe.

If I lived where you did, I'd wash off the undercarraige every time it rained during the winter, to remove the salts.

Well, my new kit showed up today, they sent me the #16520. I'll go get pics while I'm putting it on.

Anybody have a 14" SI/DO maggie who wants to trade for a brand new 18", now would be a good time to make the swap.

Talk about a pain to get the old one off. I had to beat it with a hammer to get the joints apart. If I didn't have to send the old kit back to magnaflow, I would've just taken a flame wrench to it. After fighting with it for 3 hours, I finally got it all off and I called it a day. I'll put the new one on tommorrow.

The old kit was 16614, the new one is 16520, the 520 superceded the 614 kit. Supposedly, it will fit a screw with a 6.5' bed.

I'll snap some pics tommorrow before I put it in. The only thing I saw that was different is they redesigned the hanger on the midpipe, the same one that broke on the old kit, everything else looks the same.

As promised, here are some pics of the replacement maggie kit.

Here is the only part that is different, notice how they redesigned the hanger.

And of course some pics after the install

Those are the clamps hanging down, I need to redo them, tuck them up so you don't see them.

What the what, 3 hours to get the old one off!?!? I was afraid of that. It didn't take nearly that long to the stock VW sized one off. Tomorrow is gonna suck. It's going to be 100 degrees in the shade.

Well, I'm up in Cleveland, right in the heart of the rust belt. Everything was rusted together. If I didn't have to send it back, I would've just cut it off with a torch.

Ok, so mine was difficult to get off, but a few whacks and it was off like a dress on prom night. I also noticed one other difference; the pipe that has the hanger aft of the muffler that goes to the drivers side. The hanger is in a different location. This was the one that gave me such a headache lining up the original system.
