Did anyone loose and low end with the MBRP or Banks SI/SO kit
I use my F150 to tow most of the time, I was looking at the banks SI/SO kit and the MBRP exhaust kit.
Both eliminate back pressure which concerns me that i may loose some low end grunt while pulling the trailer. Anyone notice a loss in low end grunt after installing these systems? Also how loud are these systems? No cab drone I hope? Any opinions? Give me some feedback. Thanks! |
No if anything i gained a little.I really dont see how you can loss torque unless you get rid of the y-pipe.I dont know about the banks but you will get a little drone towing with the mbrp if your not towing you wont. It sounds so good you wont care though

Thanks! I like both kits gonna be hard to decide which to get.

What your calling back pressure is actually velocity. Velocity is the pressure of your exhaust which is important for low end, back pressure is coasting down a hill in the highest gear and the truck rpms rise 100 - 200 to hold back the truck from coasting too fast.

alright well if its velocity will i loose any with the exhaust kits mentioned?

I have the MBRP SI/SO and haven't noticed any low end loss. I pull a 6x10 enclosed with usually 2 bikes, full craftsman tool box and all the gear. No idea what it weighs. I also have an Edge on canned #2.
You can definitely hear it. But that's why I wanted aftermarket exhaust. It's especially noticeable at 18 to 1900 rpm. I would call it a mild drone. Nothing that drowns out a stereo or conversation though. I have some videos on youtube if you want to check them out and try to form a decision.
