Are you doing it the right way?

When you install something say exhaust or intake on your truck are doing it the right way? And what i mean by that i mean unhooking the battery on both (NEG. and POS.) side and waiting? you need to at least wait an hour and that's about how long it takes to install something n'e ways reason behind all this is that it resets the MAF Sensor which needs to be re calibrated due to last time it was set it was set on stock exhaust or intake and needs to figure out that hey more air is coming in or going out. it will cut back on all this omg im running lean crap..

Thanks,
-Cooper

The Instructions on the S&B I installed only required me to remove on side (the neg I think) and never mentioned a time limit on how long I had to wait.

The only reason why you're supposed to reset the battery is to reduce the chance of an electrical short while someone is working in the motor compartment. Every company always says to disconnect the negative terminal, just to save their ***. It has nothing to do with fixing a lean condition. It will clear KAM data, not reset the MAF sensor, but like I said it's not going to fix a lean condition.

Call any reputable tuner in the country or performance shop. Let them know about your "theory" and see what they think.

Been a mechanic for 21 years. Maf's don't reset. Data read, input send only. Like he said, safety first and clears the ecm. Sorry.

Banks manual states disconnect the ground cable. If there are two batteries disconnect both. http://assets.bankspower.com/manuals...150-v2-web.pdf Nowhere does it say disconnect both neg. and pos. for an hr. Is this your performance engineer?
